Gold was an important part of jewelry for Inca, during those days. The concept of gold was different though. More gold didn't indicate how rich a person, rather it meant whether you are blessed by God or not. Though the people could not wear gold as much as they would like to. The people on higher status meant they are more close to God, so they could wear more. As we know Inca king was thought as the sun of God, So he could wear certainly more gold.

Inca king and nobles wore ear rings. They were heavy and sometime the earlobe touched the shoulder to carry the weight. General people were not allowed to wear it always, but on occasions and festivals, everyone could wear them. When Inca conquered a battle. Conquered people were not allowed to wear ear rings.

Inca used gem stones and gold in sandals. Each people try to decorate them with precious stones. General people wore them in festivals. Bangles are also a common people jewelry. They used gold and other stones in bangles. They also used Huairuro (good luck seeds) and colorful braided fibers for bangles.

Crown was an important part of Inca's dress. They would be different for different status. The emperor would always wore gold crown. general people would wore crowns made of Llama leather. Most cases the crown would be decorated with a feather.
