Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge

No bathtub in bathrooms!

Rooms were not that spacious, comparing to the price we paid. Surprising thing was that in bathrooms they don't have any bathtubs, only showers. Other than these, we have nothing to complain. Stuffs were super helpful.

Staffs were amazing

I liked two things of this hotel. Staff of MPSL and its location.

They noticed it was birthday of James, and appeared with a nice birthday cake at Dinner. And all food was included in room price, and food was good too.

Inca Mystery

How do they lift those 15 tons stones? How they place those stones so neatly?

Main attraction of this hotel is its location. Machu Picchu Sanctuary lodge is the only hotel around the ruins. All other hotels are located in Aguas Calientes.

Location - good or bad!

While the prime attraction of this hotel is it's location, lot of visitors complain that there is no nightlife here. Once the last tourist bus is gone you are detached from the rest of the world. And really there is nothing to do after ruins is closed at the evening. The people who are living at colorful Aguas Calientes enjoy the a lot during the evening and night, which you may miss, if you stay at this hotel.

Restaurants

Good thing is that foods are included in room fare. And you can actually eat anything (of course, food only) during your stay. Foods are not really as good as it is on a five star(!) hotel. But you may still like it. they have two restaurants and a bar in this hotel. At  TheTinkuy Buffet  you can have buffet launch. It is open for out side guests also. Those who are not staying in this hotel can have a lunch break here for $ 29.00.  The Tampu Bar Restaurant is the other one, where you can have International or Peruvian à la carte cuisine. This one is for hotel guests only. The bar is located at this restaurant.

Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge owns the snack bar El Mirador which is located just next to the entrance to the ruins. From here you can pick up a quick snack or soft drinks.
